Field Experiences

The field experience (student teaching) portion of the B.Ed program will be one of the most exciting parts of your program. Repeatedly, students tell us that student teaching is the highlight of their teacher education program.

It is through their field experience in schools that students see the merging of theory and practice. Each student must complete at least 14 weeks of supervised student teaching in order to meet certification requirements.

IPT

The Introductory Professional Term (IPT) consists of both on-campus courses and a 5 week (plus 2 observation days) field experience.

The field experience is designed to give you, the Student Teacher, your first opportunity to merge theory with practice in a school setting.
